April 21 is Poem in Your Pocket Day
Poem in Your Pocket Day was initiated in 2001 by the Office of the Mayor (Michael Bloomberg) as part of the city's National Poetry Month Celebration.
In 2008, the Academy of American Poets took the initiative to all fifty states.
Poem in Your Pocket day has become widely known throughout schools and libraries across the country.
