National Friends of Libraries Week Cash Giveaway: 10 winners each won $30 to celebrate our 30th. Over 60 people entered and shared their memories of Maxwell. As the Friends say goodbye, we will also cherish 30 years of wonderful memories. Thank you for being a Friend!

So many amazing men and women (and some kids!) have hosted bake sales, book sales, artists, authors, flower sales, garage sales, fund drives, summer reading programs, parades, contests, staff gifts and parties, guest speakers, raffles, displays, holiday decorations, and more.

National Friends of Libraries Week October 15-21, 2023

Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week/our 30th! 

Visit our new bench across from the Sims Store at the Camillus Erie Canal Park.

We are giving away $300 to 10 lucky winners on October 28, 2023 (each winner will receive $30).

All ages can enter, tell us a favorite Maxwell memory and drop your entry in the box. 

Junior Friends are also giving out free candy and bookmarks.

Remembering Betty Smith

Our dear friend, Betty Smith, passed away on June 4, 2023. Betty was a founding member of the Friends of Maxwell Memorial Library when the group formed in 1993. She and Jean Eustis led the group until 2011, and they continued to support the Friends of Maxwell for many years. Besides organizing garage, book, geranium sales, and countless other projects to support Maxwell, Betty volunteered at the library, created the Unraveling Yarns book club, and delivered books to the Fairmount Senior Garden Apartments each month. She inspired all of us with her energy, and love for Maxwell Memorial Library. We offer our sincere condolences to Betty's family.

May 2023 Updates

              Thank you for supporting our Geranium Sale!

“Salmon Splash” was the favorite this year.

$1,284.00 was given to Youth Services for a new story time rug, and additional Summer Reading items/activities. 

Memorial Day Parade: 

We will not be able to participate this year.

June Meeting has been canceled.

Our 19th Geranium Sale! 

We're all ready for everyone to pick up their orders beginning at 9:00 am on Saturday morning, May 20.

All the orders were picked up by 12:00 noon, and we were ready to go shop the Mile Long Sale by 12:20. A new record!

Order forms will be available at Maxwell Library (Friends' display) and on the library's website.

Please mail your order form and payment (check made out to Friends of Maxwell Library) to the address on the form.

Orders must be received by Thursday, May 11, 2023.
